Assessing Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Drug Prescription among Dental House Officers- A Questionnaire-Based Study

Objective: To evaluate the knowledge and attitude of dental house officers regarding proper drug prescription factors influencing judgement during writing. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with approval review board CMH Lahore Medical College. Online questionnaire 17 close ended questions developed authors distributed among 400 working in various private institutes Pakistan. Statistical analysis carried out using IBM Package for Social Sciences version 25. Results: Majority relied on supervisor prescription. Internet (37%), books (35.8%) as well fellow colleagues (34.3%) other major sources information. 8 10 respondents 'always' consider medical history before 14.8% responded that they always explain side effects to patient. There a significant difference between males females when it comes need supervision. felt supervision Male were more significantly influenced by senior colleagues/supervisor, pharmaceutical companies Conclusion: The offers should be instructed patients, take compete consult confused. Workshops, refresher courses constant according WHO Guide Good Prescribing are essential keep up date.
